Iranian Culture week in Mumbai

Increase in community interaction realized through cultural programme and participation in exhibition.

A 60 member group from the Islamic Republic of Iran performed verity of cultural programs in Mumbai the financial center of India.

At the inauguration of this function which was attended by more than 600 lovers of arts, the Consul General of the I. R. Iran Mr. Ali Mohammadi emphasizes the increase of cultural interaction between the two counties as the most original way by holding such functions and participating and exhibiting the cultural programs of  the two countries.

His Excellency Mr Mohammadi referred to increase of relations between the countries on different zones significantly attached more importance to the cultural relation between two nations which exceeded more than thousand year and called for more patronage.

Mr Dsouza the Director of the ICCR in Mumbai discussed and explained to the audience the verity of the programs presented by the Iranian group In Mumbai.

The 2 day function ( 5th & 6th May) at the N.C.P.A.Theater organized by the consulate general of the Islamic Republic of Iran In collaboration with ICCR displayed a variety of performances from Iranian culture.

In the theatre section, the theater group performed a section of episodes from Rumi and Shanameh the two great epic legendary poetical works of Rumi and Ferdosi and the traditional Music groups from province of Lorestan and Sistan and Balochestan performed the folk Musicals. Also a group of traditional Iranian musical instrument players executed various original notes.

An exhibition of handicrafts and traditional arts of Iran was simultaneously held at the same site which consisted of miniatures, painting, tourism attractions from Islamic republic of Iran, silverware, old Persian photographs etc.
